Home Remedies for Overcoming Panic and Anxiety

There are many treatments for overcoming panic and anxiety.  Two of the most popular are therapy and prescription medication.  Each of these options can be effective, but they’re also expensive.  If you don’t have a large budget, then there are some home remedies for overcoming panic and anxiety that you can try.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol- You may not want to hear this, but drinks that contain caffeine and alcohol can actually increase feelings of panic and anxiety.  So, it’s best to avoid these if you have problems overcoming panic and anxiety.  Now, this doesn’t mean that you have to give them up cold turkey.  You may want to try cutting down more and more until you can eliminate them completely.

Try yoga or meditation- One of the best home remedies for overcoming panic and anxiety is practicing yoga or meditation at least several times a week, especially when you are under a lot of stress.  Either of these options can really help to reduce your stress and keep it at a healthy level, which will help you avoid severe panic and anxiety.

Lead a healthy lifestyle- Your lifestyle can make all the difference in the world when it comes to your stress levels and overcoming panic and anxiety.  If you really want to avoid anxiety, you need to stay healthy.  This means that you should eat a healthy, balanced diet and exercise at least several times a week.  You should also take a quality multivitamin everyday and get plenty of rest each night.

Drink herbal tea- If you have a hard time relaxing, you might try to drink a soothing herbal tea.  These drinks, unlike drinks that contain caffeine or alcohol, can actually soothe your nerves and help you stay calm.  When you drink them at night, you may even find that you sleep better.  You might want to experiment with different types of tea to find the one that’s best for you.

Now, while these home remedies for overcoming panic and anxiety do help many people, they don’t work for everyone, especially if you suffer from severe anxiety.  If you deal with panic and anxiety on a regular basis, you may need to use a proven treatment like therapy or self help programs.  Either of these options can help you with overcoming panic and anxiety for good, so you can get on with your life.
